About Debra
I have worked as an alternative health practitioner for over twelve years. I have extensive training in alternative healing modalities including spiritual healing, massage, Lypossage, colon hydrotherapy, body detox protocols and fitness. I have developed a combination of these modalities to bring about physical change and healing for women wanting to take better care of their bodies and feel better about themselves.
The images of femininity portrayed by our society leave many if not most women scarred and insecure about their bodies, wishing they were something they were not born to be and missing the gifts they were given to bring to the world. I seek to bring into balance self-care and self-love so that women can recognize and embrace their true beauty and flourish into their full potential to live a life of fulfillment and joy.
MY TRAINING & PHILOSOPHIES
- Spiritual Healing Practitioner & Counselor
I have actively studied spiritual and energetic healing with Shaykh Mohammad al-Jamal of Jerusalem since 1998, and worked and studied at the University of Spiritual Healing & Sufism in Pope Valley, CA. The University is under his direction and his teachings of Sufism, and is dedicated to training peacemakers to heal, serve and lead in the way of God. In addition to spiritual healing, the teachings also emphasize the healing properties of foods and herbs, and the importance of proper diet and eating habits as practiced by the Prophets.
I have a Masters of Divinity in Spiritual Healing & Counseling from the University of Spiritual Healing & Sufism with a focus on diet and digestive health as taught and lived by the prophets.
I have used these teachings in combination with bodywork and other therapies to develop the 7-step spiritual healing method, CAREFOR Connection, designed to bring healing through developing a personal relationship with the Divine. I offer individual healing sessions, healing bodywork sessions, couples massage instruction, support groups and classes on healing, all based on the CAREFOR Connection healing method and other Sufi healing techniques.
- Nationally Certified Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT)
I trained at the Lauterstein-Conway Massage School in Austin, TX, in 1997-98. I have trained in Swedish, Deep Massage, Sports Massage, Posturology and many other bodywork modalities.
I naturally combine bodywork with the spiritual and energetic healing to assist my clients in releasing blocks in their energy fields, letting go of old memories and belief patterns that keep muscles locked in pain, as well as centering, grounding, balancing and aligning with Divine connection for reducing stress, increasing energy and bringing about more peace and fulfillment in their daily lives.
- Certified Lypotherapist
I most recently certified as a Lypotherapist with Lypossage Esthetiques International, LLC, of Middletown, CT. Lypossage uses a combination of myofascial release and lymphatic drainage techniques to break up adhesions and flush toxins from the cells in target areas that have the appearance of cellulite. The practice incorporates body wraps and nutritional products that serve to exfoliate the skin, detoxify the body, melt fat and restore vitality.
- Personal Fitness Coach
I certified as a Personal Fitness Trainer with the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). I now work as a distributor of Beachbody Fitness Products and an online Beachbody coach. I believes that physical exercise is a key component to a daily health regimen, because it increases the flow of oxygen to the brain and tissues, boosts metabolism, and is proven to reduce depression and anxiety and put us in a good mood. And, of course, it keeps the body in shape, which is important because we’ve only got one!
- Nationally Certified Colon Hydrotherapist
I completed Colon Hydrotherapy training at Tiller Mind Body Institute in San Antonio, TX, and obtained National Certification through the International Association of Colon Therapists (I-ACT).
MY STORY
At completion of college, I was suffering with ulcerative colitis, fibrocystic disease and hypoglycemia. I refused to accept that these are chronic conditions that one has to live with, which led me on a journey to find healing through natural means.
Through juicing and fasting, cleansing the colon, detoxifying the body, cleaning up the diet and eliminating stress through spiritual meditation practices and physical exercise, I healed of all of these ailments without medications, and remain free of any symptoms 20 years later!
This journey sparked my interest in colon cleansing and body detox therapies, and sparked a passion for helping others to realize the body’s amazing ability to heal itself when given the proper chance.
